Helping Sheri out in Hamiota

WHERE ARE WE? Rivers Provincial Park, Rivers Manitoba

We have decided that Cj's Snack Shack will not open until the long weekend so now we are concentrating on getting Sheri started with Cj's on the Links.   I went with her today to do some thing to help get her going.  Before we headed out we went in to Rivers to pick up some things.  Main Street was blocked off because there was a fire in one of the apartments.  A little morning excitement!!!

Last evening we had some bad weather to the north of us where Hamiota is and today we saw some of the aftermath.  Apparently there was really strong winds there.

A tree was uprooted and rolled on the golf course

A grain bin blew across the highway

Sheri is getting things kinda set up.  There is indoor dining as well as tables on the patio.  I think she will enjoy doing this venture and I hope I can drop by there occasionally to check it out.

Our coffee supplier, Ryan Jacobson with Forbidden Flavours showed up today with new coffee equipment.  They have some of the best coffee around and do a good job of promoting it.  We are going to have Forbidden Flavours at the lake as well!!  The other thing Forbidden Flavours sells is slushie machines.  We are going to have one of them at Cj's Snack Shack as well!!!

The golf course does a good job of rodent control, however one little varmint tried to make a nest in the fall.  When we moved a cupboard this is what we found.  No sign that he lived there though.

Anyway that was my day.  We came home about 6 and relaxed.  We did grab some gas today and this was the price.  For my American friends, this equates to $4.95 a US gallon for gas.  Our country is going to hell in a handbasket and we are just paying the price for dumb decisions.  There is absolutely no need for fuel to be this price when we are an energy rich country.  Oh well, Good Nite!!!

  1. You are right your gas prices are to high. Seems as if all consumers are getting hit with high prices on everything.

  2. Great to see things are coming together, it takes time to get everything out of storage and set up. All the best for the season.
