Today was an overcast day, however it was a nice temperature. The wind did get up after a while but it is Manitoba!! The Pelicans are back!! Its nice to see so many on the beach getting ready to nest. They nest just a couple miles north of us and there was only one pair 8 years ago when we started Cj's. There are probably 50 of them here today.
I had a cardiologist appointment today in Brandon, and we also had to take Percy in for a Federal Inspection. The only place you can get a Federal Inspection done is Canadian tire and I thought it would take a while so I was at Canadian Tire about 9 am. I went in with the paperwork and a guy grabbed a clipboard and out we went to the MH. He verified the VIN and got the GVW off the sticker inside and then asked me to start it to verify there were daytime running lights. We went back inside and he stamped the paper and said he would fax it. And just like that Percy was a Canadian!!! 10 minutes at most but it did cost $235 to get it done.
Not much of a checklist |
Then it was off to the Dr. That took about and hour and Sue came with me. She is a better advocate for health issues than I am. We had to laugh because the nurse opened the door and shoved this cart in and shut the door and it came rolling to a stop in front of me. I immediately said "Why Hello Dr. !!!" We snickered because probably one day our Dr's will be robots. Anyway I got a basic clean bill of health with some expensive medication changes. He wanted to update my meds because I have been having some breathing issues and he thinks the new meds might fix it. Nothing that $400 bucks a month can't fix!!! I sure hope Blue Cross kicks in for the upgrades.
We did have some bad news last night. A good friend of ours, Jill, passed away from cancer last evening. She had been sick with what they thought was pneumonia for a couple weeks. Just a few days ago they realized it was cancer and it was all over her body. Her close friends including Sue went to the hospital to bid her farewell yesterday afternoon and last evening she passed away. She was only 60 and full of life just a couple weeks ago. Life is not always fair and our thoughts and prayers are with Cam and the family. This just adds to our resolve that you need to do what you need to do today because tomorrow is not a for sure thing. Rest easy my friend!! Good Nite!
So sorry for the loss of your friend. You are so right, live life everyday as tomorrow is not a given
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you and Sue lost a friend . Hope your new medicine helps.

Sorry to read about the loss of Jill. Lost too many friends and family to that dreaded disease.
ReplyDeleteGlad Percy is now a registered Canadian.
Kathy's Cardiologist also changed her meds due to her difficulty breathing.
Happy Mother's Day to Sue.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
