Today it was time for George and Henny to head north. We have enjoyed a couple nice days with them here at Magnolia Beach. Safe travels guys and we hope to see you in the summer sometime.
That left us looking pretty lonely here on the beach. I'm sure someone else will land along soon. We did have a nice visit with our friend Sue this afternoon. You will have to take my word for it cause I didn't take a picture. We were saddened to learn that here dog Champ that she used to walk with, passed away last Saturday. We used to enjoy him stopping by and will miss him lots. Here is a picture of him and Sue 2 years ago.
I mentioned before that we have not been seeing many ships coming and going. Well one came in this morning. It was a big one named Bow Star and is nearly 600 feet long.
I went for a 16 km ride on the bike today and along the way I was noticing lots of flowers. I am not a photographer, but I did feel compelled to record the flowers I saw. I realize they are all probably weeds, but pretty none the less. I have no idea the names of any of them, but only that they exist. Enjoy or scroll past.
I do enjoy seeing the cactus in full bloom. I always think of cactus as rough tough spiky dry things. When they are in bloom and have little new shoots they look so soft and vulnerable. That's what I saw today.
And there was Mickey Mouse with a flower in his hand |
And there was what I believe was a barrel cactus. It was very short and had pretty flowers. I took a couple photos with 2 different settings. Maybe I should take more time with my pictures. I doubt I will!!! Spontaneity is sometimes better than quality photos.
As I was wandering around I found this old tractor. It is a Case with steel back wheels. It has obviously been here for a long time.
A little further down the highway I came across some road kill. What do you think it is? I was watching for momma lol.
We watched a little TV on our brand new TV tonight again. Its sure better to have a TV that works when you want it to.
Later in the evening we got a message from George and Henny that they had a nasty blow out on a front tire around Oklahoma City. Front blow outs on 40000 lb machines can end badly sometimes and do lots of damage to the MH. That was not the case here and they are fine and the MH is fine but it still scares the heck out of you. They are getting a tire and will be back on the road by morning. Hope everything goes well from now on. Good Nite!!!
Pretty flowers, I did see a buttercup and a thistle. The first picture of the flowers looks like you crash landed and accidentally hit the photo button. Lol.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of George and Henney’s tire scare. Happy to hear they are safe and sound. Very ugly road kill. Both the tire and the alligator. lol.
Stay safe, have fun!
