Today I did some work on the slide that won't move on one side. When I got into the guts of the motor and wiring I found that the screw that was sticking out had sheared off a 6 pin connection to the motor. Oh oh. I did a little YouTubing and found out that all I have to hook up to make the slide work is the red and black wire. That will be possible with a little bit of solder.

This connection was soldered originally to the motor |
So I soldered the red and black wires back together and got the motor back in place. Sure enough it works enough to get the slide back out. I will have to override all the safety features on the controller to make it actually open and close all the way. Hopefully I can find a new circuit board for the motor rather than spend $4 or 500 for a new motor. We will see.
I had to use a ladder to get at the motor and used Sues runners as protectors for the ladder. LOL
Oh yes, about 8 am Josue showed up as promised and took the Jeep to his shop to fix the paint. Here is what we wanted fixed.
Then as promised, about 5 pm he showed up again with the finished product. He had taken the fender off and did an awesome job of painting it. Total bill....2000 pesos ($142.00 Cnd)
We headed downtown for a bite of supper and then a wee visit with Kenya.
