After arriving in Winnipeg last night and then staying in the hotel overnight I got up to a continental breakfast at the hotel. I was impressed with the Country Inn and Suites as a place to stay. $85 bucks taxes in for the night. They didn't have an airport shuttle so that cost and extra $20 for a taxi to go both ways. I could have walked but the breeze was chilly this morning. An egg and some bacon did the trick.
I had the Brandon Air Shuttle booked for my ride from Winnipeg to Brandon. It is a good service but sometimes does not connect with flights very well. Oh well it got me there. $60 each way.
This photo is proof that I came prepared this time. Last time I was in shorts and sandals WITH socks and Sheri gave me heck.
The Shuttle dropped me off at Kaitlyns work where I was picking up her car. She was gracious enough to to lend it to me for the 3 days I was home. Sheri was going to give me a vehicle but they had a break down so they were down to 1 car for 3 people.
I went to pick up Dani for lunch and we went to Patches so I could have a hot beef sandwich. There are some things in life that a person craves and cannot get in Mexico, and a good hot beef sandwich is one of them.
After lunch it was back to Sheri's for a wee rest before supper.
The other meal I crave is Hamburger Steak and mashed potatoes with cream corn, so that is what they cooked me for supper. I am getting real spoiled here. Got to visit with Donovan for a while before he headed off to night shift on the rigs. Good to be with family again.
After supper Sheri and I took a drive to check out a few things downtown. She was showing me how prices had risen since we left. This chicken was $18 !!! Eggs were up a bit but you could get a dozen regular eggs for $3.50 or so.
I finished off the evening with a traditional Timmies and threw in a sunset for good measure. Good Nite!!
