Today my first job was to take Max and Grace back to Rivers to school. That meant a quick coffee and on the road. Well that's what I wished had happened, but I am on a 12 hour fast for blood work, so no coffee for me!!! The streets in Brandon were snow covered from a snowfall last night and then on the highway it turned to a little ground drift. Roads were dry and not slippery at all.
After I dropped the kids off, I went back to the Rivers Clinic to let them suck my blood. Now the girls in Rivers know that I am hard to get blood from so they ask me to drink lots of water in the morning and then when I arrived, they wrapped my arms in warm blankets and threw one over me. This apparently helps the blood vessels get fat. It did work cause the young lady was successful on her first try in the back of my hand.
Then it was back to Brandon where I thought I would drop by the Xray clinic to see if I could get in before I left tomorrow. As I was inquiring, the Xray Tech came out and said, "Right this way!!" I never even sat in a chair but rather had the whole thing done and left within 10 minutes. Wow!!
Then it was over to pick up Sheri, and we went for lunch. The restaurant cut the sandwich in a neat way, and we had to put it back together to figure out how they did it!! Anyway, lunch was good.

It looks quite big this way |
After lunch I headed over to Kaitlyn's work to drop off her car. It has been real handy being able to use it. The Brandon Air Shuttle picked me up there at 3:20 for my trip to Winnipeg to catch my flight to Calgary. The driver was terrible. He was belligerent to some people clearly because of their colour and he used the Lords name in vain continuously whenever wasn't quite right either with the passengers or with the road conditions or other cars. I did write a review to the company advising them of how he was representing the company and requesting a review of his employment with them. I will follow up with them later to see what happened. We did arrive in Winnipeg early, because he drove like a madman. lol
I had to wait a couple hours before my plane was ready to board so I spent some time writing a blog or two. For some reason every time I went through security on this trip, I was taken aside and swabbed for drugs. Both me and my backpack got it every time. Do I look like a druggy???
A nice cup of tea and a little nap and the lights of Calgary showed in the window.
And we were there. It was about 10;30 pm. And I looked at the airport map and yes, once again I had to walk the entire length of of the airport to get to the gate where I would leave from at 8 am tomorrow morning. It was about 1.5 kms to walk. At least there were a few moving walkways which helped a lot. And they were all working unlike the ones in Minneapolis.
No time for a hotel, so I spotted a kids play area with bean bags on the floor. No kids at this time of night so that's my bed for the night. Good Nite!!!
Bean bags...awesome
