NEXT DESTINATION? We are here for a while
Today we decided to go for a little drive down the road to look at some of the little towns and what they had to offer. We see the little towns only from the highway and they dont look very big but when you turn down the main street they are actually quite big!! We visited Monteon which is about 8 miles from here and Lo de Marcos which is about 15 miles, today. A lot of the towns seem to have the nice overhead decorations for as far as the eye can see. Very pretty. Monteon was a very quiet little town.
Next stop was Lo de Marcos which is a town with a French History. It is also full of French Canadians which is evidenced by all the Quebec licence plates. Mexico is a long way to come for them!! And to get to the RV park you have to navigate this narrow street with your motorhome. Pretty tricky!!
We stopped there for a nice lunch on the beach and had some good old burrito's and tacos. It was good but they charged tourist prices for it.

There was a great big driftwood log had washed up on the beach and a Canadian guy decided to make some money with it. He went and bought a brand new chainsaw and was cutting up slabs and selling them to people. The restaurant we ate in had some of this style of seating, so he was adding more to it as well. I never asked but I think I saw a 500 peso bill exchanged for one of the slabs. That is like 35 bucks Canadian which is not a bad deal. He would probably get 50 slabs from this log plus the rood end would make an awesome deck table.
This was some of the restaurant furniture already there from a previous drift log.
That was our day today. Since Pat and Harold moved we have neglected our little tree out front because Harold was the water guy and looked after them faithfully. Well I figured I could maybe bring it back to life so I have started watering it again. I didn't think there was any hope for it but....
Just like Canadian winters, when you think there is no hope of every seeing a living thing again in nature, a little green sprout gives your spirits a boost!! Maybe life will once again spring up and the tree will begin to grow again. Hope you are getting a little spring type boost where ever you are!! Oh wait, Canada has 3 more months of winter!!!
That was some nice wood furniture and it's always nice to visit new places. Good luck with the tree :-)
ReplyDeleteHope I can keep it growing.
