A Little Tour

WHERE ARE WE? Emma Lake, Saskatchewan

Today was a cool one although there was no wind so it was bearable.  These days serve to solidify why we spend money on gas to go south.  The countryside here is gorgeous but it gets darn cold in the winter, so we are happy just to come and visit and then turn our rig south.

Ken and Rhonda took us for a drive around the vacation area here.  We travelled all around their lake on some really nice roads.

There are a variety of "cabins" here.  Some have been here a while and are very rustic, while others are very elaborate.  This area is not for the faint of heart because a bare lot will cost you $500,000 to start if you are waterfront.  Add to that a million dollar house and you have to be well off to afford to be here.  Lots of places have been here for years as well so they don't have that much invested, but when they sell they could be looking at a tidy profit.

Ken and Rhonda have what I would call a typical lake cabin.  They are not right on the lake but their cabin backs on to a wooded area that will never be developed.  If I was looking for a cabin, this is what I would choose.  They have a nice big yard with everything you need to be comfortable in the woods.

Although we were curious to see their place, the main reason to come here was to visit with them.  Visiting involves more than just chatting you know.  Food is a huge part of it!!!  I always think of my tummy.  We have been provided some wonderful food and drink and are not suffering at all.  It is always fun to get to know people in their natural environment and to realize that we are all very similar.  I don' usually showcase food but what the heck.

I plan on doing a couple projects on the MH tomorrow so it is off to bed for me.  Its been a wonderful day!!!  Good Nite!!
