A Pretty Lighthouse

WHERE ARE WE? Lighthouse Road near Winchester Bay OR

We got a really late start this morning actually it was afternoon!  Back home an organization which I am part of is soliciting a large grant to install a wheelchair and disability friendly dock in our lake for public use.  As President of the organization I have to make sure that we get this done in an orderly fashion and in such a way that we will be considered for $60000+ of funding.  So today I was working on the numbers along with our secretary treasurer who is doing up the application at the end of the day.  Her and I and another gentleman on the committee are basically the only ones that have been tasked with getting this done and we have until Wednesday to get it done.  I think we will make it. It was a sort of foggy morning so it was good to just sit and look out the window and work.

The drive today was much the same as other days with lots of trees and ocean and sand and rocks.  Although it is beautiful, I have almost had enough.  The weather is typical of here in the late fall with lots of cloud and fog and light rain.  Very depressing.

Sue took a couple neat pictures today along the way.  The trees were so heavy with moss that it looks like snow and in another spot there was this pretty mushroom.  Im guessing it is poisonous.

We decided to park in a pull off area by a lighthouse about 1 km off the highway.  It should be a quiet site for the night.  It is right beside a lighthouse and on the edge of the sand dunes that run up and down the coast for about 50 miles here.  Beautiful area.

We got all parked up for the night in a nice spot and will see what morning brings.

This is the route we took today.

After dark we looked out our window and this is what we saw as the mist rolled in.  The lighthouse gives off a white and red light.  And the lights on the trees behind were spectacular.
