Snow!!!

WHERE ARE WE? Cabelas in Verdi near Reno NV.

Nice sleep again and up and ready to go by 10ish.  Took Archie for a walk and saw that there was still frost on the shady side of some dirt piles.  It was cold last night!!

 

Our travels today took us up the mountains, down the mountains, across so orchards and rice fields.  

Up here the greenery that we had all down the coast has gone away.  Dried up grass and fields make it feel like deep fall at home.

We went through a little construction that held us up for about a half hour, but oh well we were not in any hurry.

We started to see some snow on the mountain tops and we were heading up hill.

Well up the mountain we went and yes we found the snow.  We have travelled 5000 kms since we left home and here we are in snow!!!  And we only had to climb 7200 feet to find it.  Now we have to go down the big hill at some point.  We will leave that for another day

We are going to do something we have not done before.  We are stopping for the night at a Cabela's.  They even have RV parking out back.

Of course we were here so had to go in to have a peek.  Cabelas does an amazing job of marketing.  There stores are very interesting to browse and they have stuff you can't find anywhere else.  And the money they put into decorations is crazy.  Aquariums, all sorts of animals adorn the walls and ceilings.

Well here we are and the temps should go down to -1 tonight.  Look out Vegas here we come to enjoy your upper 20C temps.  But first an interesting trip.  Stay tuned.  Good Nite!!
