We Can't Get over the Beauty of the Mountains

WHERE ARE WE? A Gravel Pit east of Kamloops

When we got up this morning the puffy clouds had enveloped the mountains.  It was quite pretty and very peaceful looking even though we were in a parking lot beside the highway.

We were in no hurry this morning so we got on the road about 9:30 and headed down the road about 2 miles and stopped to see the Rearguard Falls.

The falls are very beautiful.  Not very large but the colour of the water makes the scenery amazing.  Archie loved the walk down and back.  It was good exercise for an old boy like me with a heart condition.  I plan to work on being able to more of these kinds of things without totally playing myself out.

From the top it was about 200 feet vertically to the bottom.  And of course back up again!!!

After we finished our little tour we headed back down the road toward Kamloops.  Sue got a picture of a spectacular mountain that has a glacier on it.  It was shrouded in cloud and looked very mystical.

A little bit of sticker shock as we passed through Valemount.  Our friends say that BC stands for Bring Cash!!!  We did get some for 1.79 in Blue River!!!

I don't like to post about accidents in case someone sees them and knows the vehicle.  But I doubt that will happen with this on.  We had to stop for a while while they guided us through the site.   I don't know that I have ever seen a semi flip right upside down on the highway.   The good thing is that it looked like the drivers compartment was intact and the drivers door was open and basically not damaged a lot.  We hope everyone was ok.

The hay fields are so green around here and the bears love it.  We saw this guy just after we passed by the accident.

We found a great little spot up the side of the mountain near Kamloops to spend the night.  It is a dirt bike spot but there is nothing going on today.  We hope for a quiet night.

Here is our route today.  Good Nite!!
