So here is a picture of what I see while I am doing the blog. Most people would give up their first born to have a view like this while sitting at their computer. Okanagan Lake is very pretty with the mountains on either side and all along the sides are orchards and wineries.
Our day was lopsided today because of we didn't get moving until after lunch. We didn't move very far and the reason we are not hurrying is because our friends Steve and Julie (who we hope to visit) are not around until Friday. They live in Oliver, which is only about 60 kms south of where we are right now. I'm sure some question how we find spots to overnight along the way. Of course the easy out is a Walmart, but in this tourist country, most Walmarts don't allow overnight. Many city bylaws prevent RV's from overnighting with someone in them within city limits. One of our other resources is the iOverlander app on our phones. People like us post areas of interest to overnight when we find them. There are lots of nice places along the way to hunker down. Here's how we found this spot. The map shows lots of places from paid campgrounds to free areas.
We chose the Lookout Okanagan Lake and clicked on it. It gave us information about the site.
We decided that this would work for us and sure enough, with a little levelling we were set for the night.
We did end up with the front wheels off the ground but we were fairly level.
Right beside the MH was this plaque that states that the Okanagan was changed when a Manitoban came here and set up irrigation and introduced fruit to the area. Your welcome BC!! We were happy to do it for you!!
A little bit of Survivor tonight for viewing pleasure and it was bed time.
This was our trip today. Good Nite!
Beautiful spot for an overnight.
