A Little History Tour

WHERE ARE WE?           Magnolia Beach, Texas for a couple weeks

NEXT DESTINATION?     Kickapoo Casino, North Falcon Heights, Texas

This morning Jerry and I headed into Port Lavaca to get some propane and water.  Water is now available at the Lighthouse County Park.  This park was closed last year when we were here because of the damaged done by the Hurricane.  Nice to see the area slowly recovering.  The park charged us $5 to get in to the park and told us to go ahead and fill up.  That works.

Later, we all decided to head out on a little history tour of the Indianola area.  This used to be a city back in the 1800's but the hurricanes and fires took their toll and now there is not much left of it.  One of the places to see history is the cemetery so we took a stroll through the Indianola Cemetery.  1867 seemed like a bad year here because lots of the stones are from that date.

On the way back from our tour we spotted a damsel in distress.  She had buried her dually in the sand.  It was a 4x4 but I don't think she knew how to engage it.  Not to worry, I just hooked up the Jeep and hauled her out.  I think she was thankful she didn't have to call Daddy to come rescue her.  She said thanks and off she went.

Here is an interesting person who hangs out in Magnolia Beach.  His name is Edgar Magnolia and he likes to dress for the occasion.  I guess by looking at him the next celebration around here is Easter.  He looks quite dapper in his outfit.

After we got back Sue and Champ stopped by to visit.

It wasn't long and a big ole black cloud came drifting over.  Oh oh time to batten down the hatches.  There's a big ole Nor'wester heading our way.

It wasn't long and the waves were starting to white cap.  The wind was getting quite chilly too.  Apparently we are in for a couple cool wet windy days.  Snuggling weather!!

The other day when we were in New Orleans with Rachel we had a good laugh.  Before supper everyone had pills to take and Rachel, Ed, Lessie, and I all pulled out our pill containers, and all of them were converted Tylenol containers.  We had a good laugh about that!!

The view out our window today:
