Mexican Boxing Day is a Little Different

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Mexico

Boxing Day in Mexico is a little more relaxed than in Canada.  Some stores were open and some were not.  I took a little walk to get some groceries and stopped at El Cafecito for something cold to drink.  Kenia made me some sort of a café - chocolate frappe thingy.  It was marvelous.  It is like a smoothy in that it gives you a real good brain freeze.  The freeze was worth the taste!!!!

Got a picture from Sheri of Jeremy on Christmas day.  I missed getting a picture of him when I did everyone the other day.  A couple years ago we would have thought he was a bandit, but now its just normal apparel.  He is getting ready for the cold weather.

Two of our hosts, Jacqueline and Frank, like fishing.  Well at least Frank likes fishing and Jacqueline loves to watch him.  Anyway, they were fishing today and Frank was hauling in lots of little bait fish.  He is hoping to catch the big one today but I don't know if he did or not.  If not, then manana!!!

The beach was a little busier today than normal, but still not crowded by any means.  We do not see many international travelers where we are because the all-inclusive hotels are a couple miles down the beach.  Most of the people who visit here are Mexicans from Guadalajara and other places inland. They are here for the holidays and will return home after the New Year.

And I know I promised no more sunsets but who can resist.  It always looks just a bit different every day.  And the pelicans just add to the picture.

A nice left over roast beef supper and a quick walk down town and its bedtime.  Life is tough!!  Hope you have great days too.
