WHERE ARE WE? Magnolia Beach, Texas for another week or so
NEXT DESTINATION? Kickapoo Casino, North Falcon Heights, Texas
Our friends Sandra and Micheal remembered us talking about how we make one cup of coffee at a time and I guess they felt sorry for us because Sandra brought over a neat coffee press for us to try and keep if we like it. It holds a couple cups of coffee at a time and is so simple to use. You just spoon coffee ground in, add boiling water and put this plunger in and press it down. It takes all the grounds to the bottom and traps them and makes nice tasting coffee as it does it. I think we will like this rig. Thanks so much for giving it to us.
This morning there were lots of hermit crabs on the beach so I collected a few and put them in a bucket so we could watch them for a while. It is neat how they use an old shell to live in and they insist on taking their house with them wherever they go. They also pick shells that have eye looking markings on them so predators think they are some big thing on the bottom of the ocean and they stay away from them.
Another hot day today and the girls are loving spending time in the water. It is a perfect beach here for swimming, but just a little chilly for me.
I swear there was a ghost out in the water today. Ed took the picture and didn't put a name on Sandra on the right.
Even Ceirra spent some time floating around on the water with Mama!! You think she might be a bit spoiled??
In the afternoon I found a little time for my favorite pastime. Not often I get time for a nap but I did today.
Later in the afternoon it was happy hour time again.
Happy hour extended until way after dark today. It seems like no one is in a hurry to go home when we are in the company of good friends.
One of the things we discussed was all the different saying there are for all the different areas of the country. One of the new ones is this one. We will be trying to incorporate it into our day to day conversation. You would be using it too if Y'all'd've just listened when I explained it to you.
This was the view out our window today:
Oh I so envy you enjoying warm temperatures and the ocean! We are back to the mid teens, hopefully it will warm up soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! It looks lovely. You can bet I'll be bugging Bill to take me to Magnolia Beach one winter.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure y'all'd've welcomed us! I love it! :)
Didn’t know the dominos story. We’ll all have to learn some games for next winter.
ReplyDeleteWe haven’t tried a French press. We have a pour over pot.
