We were invited to go to Chacala for the day with some other people in the park. They were going to spend some time on the beach and have some lunch. We decided it would be fun so off we went. Chacala is not far up the road so we were there in good time in the morning and got our umbrella's set up in a good spot. Mid week is generally not too busy and that was the case today.
Some of the group went snorkeling and reported that there were lots of colorful fish hanging around the rocks. I am not good with sticking my face in the water so I stayed behind and took their word for it. I watched the banana boat rides and waited for lunch time.
Lunch was in a little restaurant by the marina that we didn't even know existed. It is in a former munitions warehouse and has lots of tree cover. What's left of the building dates back to the 1600's when the Spanish were hanging around here fighting off pirates. The buffet was vegetarian which didn't turn my crank, however it was delicious anyway!! Great food with good friends.
After lunch it was back to the beach and some swimming and boogie boarding.
The swimming was put on hold for a few minutes when a sea snake appeared in the water. After confirming that they are harmless, everyone migrated back to the water again.
Such was our day in Chacala. The waves were great, the sun shone, the food was good, the company was fine! What more could we ask for!!! Good Nite!!
Oh my, except for the snake and vegetarian food, it sounds wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI could do without the snake.
