Sue Heads back to Manitoba

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Mexico

Today we take Sue to the airport in PV to send her home to babysit for a few weeks.  Our kids Kaitlyn and Greg are off to Singapore for a holiday and so Gramma has offered to look after Grace and Max.  She will also be spending time with our daughter Sheri and her daughter Dani at Cj's on Ice back in Rivers.  She tells me that Nicole is dropping off her clan of Abby, Silas, Emma, and Lincoln to stay overnight with gramma as well.  It will be like a gramma's dream come true.  We were up and off to the airport by 8:30 our time which is 9:30 PV time.  We leave early because sometimes you can get delayed a couple hours on the highway with all the construction that is happening on the new autopista between here and PV.  This morning we had no delays so we had time to stop for a relaxing breakfast in Bucerius!!

Then it was off to the airport to drop Sue off.  She will have a long wait now but I'm sure she will stay busy.  They have a nice shaded parking area so we found a space there and walked in with Sue.

She had to get some ear buds because she forgot hers at the MH.

The airport wasn't very busy so she got right in line for security.  She had booked in and got her boarding pass online and because she just had a carry on, there was no need to stand in line to check in.  That makes flying so much easier if you can travel light. A quick goodbye picture and she was off.

Our next adventure this trip was to head over to Costco for some supplies for El Cafecito!!  Little Kenia grabbed the biggest cart available and I didn't know why, but I soon figured it out.  She planned on loading that thing to the brim!!!! She needs a fridge to keep stuff cool, so that was the major purchase today.  In case you wonder about cost here in Mexico, this nice Danby bar fridge was $5700 pesos.  That's about $400 CND so not cheap!!!  Oh well, she needs it and she has researched and knows that Costco has the best price.

I had to push the cart because Kenia couldn't see over the load we had in it and I feared that she would run over someone!!

We got it all loaded in the Jeep and off we went back to La Penita.

The street to Costco goes right by the cruise ship port and there were a couple in today.  The Carnival Panorama which is huge, and a smaller Norwegian cruise ship.  I always get hungry when we see them because I know they probably have a huge buffet just sitting there waiting to be eaten.  Isn't that crazy!!

Our trip back through the mountains to La Penita was a little slower than the trip to PV.  Lots of big old trucks struggling to get up the mountain and there is no where to get by them unless you want to risk your neck passing a string of 20 vehicles.  Some Mexicans do that and we have seen some close calls.

By the time we got back home, Sues plane had taken off and was just passing over our heads.  La Penita is right by the 200 sign on the map.

I helped Kenia unload her treasures and then had supper and off home I went.  Hanging out in the city wears a guy out and I was glad to just sit and relax.  Sue had ordered Starlink for us on Monday and it said it would be a week or so for delivery.  Well it was a short week, because it was sitting on our step when I arrived home.  Sue made me swear not to hook it up until she arrived back here so it will have to sit and wait I guess.

It wasn't long and my flight tracker said that Sue was in Winnipeg and the kids were there to pick her up.  She will stay overnight in a hotel with Kaitlyn and Greg and drive their car home tomorrow.  Good Nite!!
