The Sunshine is Back

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Today is Sue's Birthday.  When she got up, there were lots of plans being made. Pool volleyball and pizza is what I heard.   I waited most of the day for the plans to happen, but none ever did.  Sue spent most of the afternoon in bed so no volleyball, and she cancelled the pizza when she got up.  Guess she is not feeling well.  Happy Birthday anyway!!

Like it started, the rain stopped in the middle of the night.  When we woke this morning there were clear blue skies.  It was as if the world had started over.  Everything is green and almost smiling after receiving the unexpected rain.  It is not normal for rain this time of year and things do get a little bit dry by April normally.  Everyone was out drying out anything that got wet and there were lots of gleeful "Good Morning's!"

There is an umbrella out front that had seen better days before the rain, but today it looks like it has had enough.  The wind and rain really beat it up, and I don't think there is any help for it.  It is crying for someone to get rid of it or replace it.  Poor thing.

Wade and Melissa decided to head out on their stand up paddle boards to check out the bay.  The waves are minimal so it should be a good day for it.  They told us later that they saw lots of fish out on the reef.

Yesterday Ken and I set out to get a BBQ working.  There are two BBQ's but neither one were working.  They are so rotted out from the salt air that they are basically scrap iron.  That's what happens in this country.  Joel took a hose off of it because when we tried to light it the other day, propane was coming out of places that it shouldn't.  If the wrong person tried to light it, they could get a close hair removal probably.  I said I would get a new hose.   I lucked out and found another hose in the pool room and we replaced it.  I got the WD40 and we loosened up the seized on/off knob and we hooked my propane tank to it.  Well it kinda works.  One could cook a steak on it now at least.  Not sure how long it will continue working but for now, fingers crossed.  The flame pattern leaves a little to be desired!!

Did a little shopping trip after that and found out that it is a busy day in town.  The line up at the store was crazy.

Kenia and Oscar showed up for a few minutes to bring Sue a cake and some flowers.  Kenia had to head off to work so they didn't stay very long.

We finally got to see a sunset tonight after a few days without one.  One thing I noticed today was how far the sun has moved.   It has a ways to go yet but our time here is getting shorter.

We finished off the evening with a few games of cards.  I don't even know who was the winner of the games.  It was just fun playing.   Good Nite!!
