Welcome to Las Vegas!!

WHERE ARE WE? Government Wash just east of Las Vegas Nevada

Today was move day again.  We are seeking the perfect temperature and I think Las Vegas might be the spot.  We didn't get in a hurry this morning because we can put off any of the jobs we want to do today until tomorrow.  Now if anyone knows me I can identify with this.

One chore I did have to do was a quick grocery shop.  We needed cream, cheese and brown sugar.  So I did actually get that job done.

We had to stop by to see our friend Evelyn at the Pair a Dice RV Park.  Quite the name huh?  First we wanted a visit with her and second she has my drivers licence which was sent to me Fedex from Canada by our daughter Kaitlyn.  $90 it cost to get it here in time for us.  Oh well it is a must to have it to cross into Mexico and my temporary one runs out about the middle of November.  Anyway all is well!  Thanks Evelyn for doing that for us.  She has a lovely park model trailer and we enjoyed visiting with her.

When we came out from visiting and went back to where we had parked Percy, we saw something on the windshield wiper of the Jeep.  It was a rubber duck.  We had been Ducked sometime while we visited.  What a neat thing.

We need to find some of these Ducks so we can pay this forward.  You are not supposed to give the one you received away again.  We travelled up and over the mountain for one last time and arrived at the dump station in the Lake Mead Recreation area.  This dump station is free but I could drink water faster than it comes out the hose.  We needed about 30 gallons and it took almost 20 minutes to fill.  Good thing we are not in a hurry.

The mountains around Vegas are quite spectacular.  We hope to take a couple Jeep rides out into them.  The colours are a deep rusty to yellow to brown and grey and black with a little white worked in.

Add in a little sunset and you have something quite nice.

Here is our trip today.

And someone left a comment yesterday about where we were boondocking in Pahrump.  There is lots of places on the east mountain side of town but here was our spot. It is right off the end of East Charlton Park Ave.  I liked it because it was just a couple hundred feet off the end of a paved road so less bouncing to get there.  Thats all I got for today.  Good Nite!

  3. Who knew owning a Wrangler meant you need a supply of little rubber ducks...but it is fun. Plus, there is also a wave. Check google...lol Enjoy your time at Government Wash.
