We are South of the Border, but not down Mexico way!!

We had a good sleep sitting on the side of the street in Bloomenort where P & H's daughter lives.  We even had a visit from one of the people who live on the street.  John stopped by to see the Motorhome because he used to go with his parents when he was a kid, and he just wanted to see inside one again.  We were pleased to let him have a look and it looked like it brought back a lot of memories.  Hope you visit our blog once in a while John.

P & H were parked on the street as well just down from us.  This is their new to them Motorhome.  We will do a tour on a later post.

We were up and had coffee and ready to hit the road by 10 o'clock.  P & H said to goodbye to their daughter and their cute grand daughter Ava.

Our trip today took us to Duluth Minnesota.  We crossed the border into the USA about 11:30 am at the Warroad crossing.  Once again we were less than 2 minutes getting through.  Just the normal questions and we were on our way.

We were following P & H for the first part of the day so this was our view up the road.  Nice to watch how their new rig and jeep handle.  It looks like they will get along fine with it.

Charlie has got back to his normal self in the Motorhome.  He likes to come up front once in a while to check out where we are going.

We found a nice spot next to the Rainy River to stop for lunch.  It is a small campground in the summer but has been abandoned for the winter I guess.  We parked and Charlie and I went for a walk.

After lunch, Lexie decided to ride with Charlie for a while so they curled up on the couch for a nap.

Well we made it to Duluth around 5 and parked in a Walmart lot that says "No Camping"  We had read on the Walmart that if you go to customer service they will allow you if you leave your name and licence number and Phone number and they did.  They were pleased that we came to ask.  It is their way of controlling who stays there.  So many people talk about all the Walmarts that shoosh people away, and we have not yet found one like that.  They just don't want you to set up camp in their parking lots.  Just an overnight stopping place with great shopping.

Because we had to let our food supplies dwindle so we didn't bring any fruits or vegetables across the border, we did a major shop at Walmart.  Although everyone thinks Walmart is a cheap place to spend the night, it cost us about $200.00.  LOL  But the girls enjoyed the shopping.

Here is the view out our window tonight looking out over Duluth Minnesota.

  1. I always check with the customer service when staying also. I found one Walmart in Carlisle Pennsylvania which did not allow it, as they did not own the centre they were located in. The girl without asking willing game me directions to a Home Depot a couple of blocks away. The Home Depot manager said there was no problem.
