Archie has to Deal with a Black Hole

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Mexico

I was at Kenia's El Cafecito the other day and she was mentioning that she was going to be shopping for some household things.  A fan was one of the things she needed for her casa.  Sue has been carting a fan around since we left home and so far, it is just taking up space.

I figured maybe a trade was in the works.  I needed some firewood and a cold drink, so Josie took me by his carpentry shop and loaded me up with firewood and then Kenia made me a nice batido frio de fresas!!  She makes them so yummy with whip cream and ice cream and fresh strawberries.   Mmmm good.  I hope they enjoy their fan.

One of the things that I have noticed is the way that the people communicate.  Modern technology has certainly taken over to some extent, and almost everyone has a cell phone.  The Mexican government has ensured that most people get free social media and communication for a cheap price or even free.  But some of them still communicate using a years old medium, the whistle.  When someone needs something there will be a whistle to someone down the street, who in turn whistles to someone else and so on, and in a matter of minutes someone who can help you will turn up out of the blue.  I didn't know it, but in some parts of Mexico it is an actual language.  In the mountains, it saves people walking extended distances to find out what they need to.  Instead, they just whistle across the mountain.  Here is what Wikipedia has to say about it.

Archie and I went for a walk on the beach today and some dog had dug a great big hole in the sand.  It was funny watching Archie because he didn't know what might be in the hole.  He kept sneaking around the outside on his belly, and jumping back at every little thing.  He is such a chicken.

So, with the big OMMMMNICRON scare going on, it seems like the beach is very quiet.  Of course, the holiday season for the Mexicans is over, but it seems like everyone here is laying low.  It makes for a nice beach for walking on.

I went for a little walk downtown tonight just because I could and spotted this gecko up on the wall of one of the houses down the street.  They are such neat little creatures.

Yesterday I told you about our power problems.  Here is what the reading was just before we went to bed last night.  Of course, there was an error code which is the High Voltage code.  Like I said, we will get a corrector which will hopefully fix the problem.

Thats all I have for today.  Our lives are slowly falling into a bit of a routine.  That is not a bad thing.  We do try to plan some neat things to do once in a while to keep us moving.  Hope you had a great day too.
