"Away" is a place not found on a map, but you'll know you're there when you get there. And then it happens. One day you wake up and you're in this place where everything feels right. Your heart is calm, your soul is light, your thoughts are positive and your vision is clear. Your faith is stronger than ever and you're at peace. At peace with where you've been and with what you've been through and at peace with where you are headed. A place called away.
P & H decided to get their rig washed today. Although it looked pretty good already, there was some dust and road grime on it. It is a good thing to get some wax on them when we are near the salty ocean. We haven't really noticed those salty mists yet, but I'm sure the salt is hanging in the humid air. His 8 am appointment turned into an 8:30 start. At least it is better than my 9 am AC appointment which never happened. Manana (pronounced Menyana) is a neat Spanish word which means tomorrow or as Wikipedia further defines as "an unspecified time in the future"!!! My dear mother in law used to call it a "Manitoba minute" because she would ask for something and I would say "in a minute" which could be defined the same was as Manana!!!
We got a bit of a scare from our daughter in Alberta today when she texted that she was in Emergency with our grandson Donovan. Apparently he was at the school Remembrance Day service when he passed out and hit the floor face first. Doctor couldn't pinpoint any reason but we do know that he missed breakfast because he slept in after being up until all hours of the night. Probably had something to do with it.
After the excitement wore down we had a nice little Facetime chat with everyone. Here is out daughter Sheri chatting.
Our son Derek has been on a little winter trip with his friend Andrew. They just loaded a cooler, the BBQ and some sleeping bags and jumped in the truck and headed to Texas. I was pleased to see that he is a chip off the old block, just hanging out on the beach in Galveston TX. They had fun by the sounds of it. Today they are on their way home. Safe travels guys.
We have been having some troubles with our cell based internet here so today I moved the antenna to the back of the MH to see if it would help. We do get good internet in the mornings but in the evening when we want to watch TV it is terrible. We will just keep trying things until we get it right. Please not critiquing my antenna pole. LOL.
We have 7 day per week laundry service here. You just have to bag up your laundry and have it down to the office by 10 am and like magic, it comes back washed and folded sometime after supper. The cost is about the same as if we went to a laundromat but with far less hassle. We even washed the couch cover today along with some bedding. Those are some of the things I hate washing.
Charlie trying out the couch without covers.
It all comes back tightly wrapped in plastic
I said we were not going to get into a routine or schedule down here but hey!! Tonight was Taco Tuesday so we went and enjoyed a nice taco and salad. Mostly we enjoyed the company of our new friends. I didn't even take a picture. Here is a picture of a tree that has strangled another tree to death. It is definitely survival of the fittest in the jungle. I think the winning tree is a eucalyptus, but don't quote me. Have a great day.
